Cavan Redmond

Cavan M. Redmond is Group President, Animal Health, Consumer Healthcare and Corporate Strategy. Redmond is a member of Pfizer's Executive Leadership Team and is responsible for three diverse businesses in addition to leading Pfizer's enterprise-wide Strategy, Portfolio Management and Analysis, as well as Continuous Improvement efforts. In addition, Redmond serves as Pfizer's Executive Sponsor of the Diversity and Inclusion Worldwide Leadership Council.

Redmond has more than 20 years of health care experience spanning consumer health, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology where he has extensive experience turning science and technology into successful global products. He has held leadership positions with responsibility for marketing, research and development, market research and information technology and has successfully created new businesses and divisions in large, complex organizations.

Prior to this appointment, Redmond headed Pfizer's growing Diversified Businesses including Animal Health, Consumer Healthcare and Nutrition. Under Redmond's leadership in 2010, the division delivered growth at or above market rates for each of the businesses and increased R&D productivity and the strength of each BU's pipeline.

Before joining Pfizer, Redmond was President of Wyeth Animal Health and Consumer Healthcare where he focused iconic brands such as Centrum and Advil, two of the Top 10 OTC products worldwide, and was responsible for all facets of the division's global operations and research and development. He was also a member of the Management, Operations, Human Resources/Benefits, and the Law and Regulatory Committees of Wyeth Pharmaceuticals.

Also at Wyeth, Redmond served as the first Executive Vice President and General Manager of the high-growth BioPharma Business Unit with the responsibility for U.S. marketing and sales of biotech products, including Enbrel, Inductos for bone growth, ReFacto and BeneFix for hemophilia, and oncology. He also had global commercial responsibilities for the BioPharma business and for the protein new product R&D pipeline. Redmond more than doubled the biotech patent portfolio through an innovative blend of science and commercial focus in the areas of manufacturing, R&D and process development. In addition, he served as head of global strategic marketing where he drove Enbrel to sales of $5 billion, becoming Wyeth's largest product.

Redmond also worked at Sandoz in both the United States and in Switzerland in senior commercial and R&D roles. Redmond earned a master's degree from The Johns Hopkins University, where he also completed a post-graduate fellowship in organizational change management, and a bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland. Redmond serves on the Board of Directors of the World Self-Medication Industry (WSMI) and has previously served on the boards of the World Council on Ethical Standards and the Pennsylvania Biotechnology Organization. He is a published author of multiple industry-related articles.
